CSI: The Next Generation

I just thought this was fantastic.....

'Crime' Cracked By CSI Kids

Last Update: 6/20 9:00 pm

Elementary students in Pendleton County got hands-on training this week in what it takes to be a CSI.

Instructors from the Department Of Criminal Justice out of Richmond set up different mock crime scenes at the Phillip Sharp Elementary School in Butler.

The students applied the math and science skills they learned in the classroom earlier in the week to the mock crime scenes they investigated in the field.

They checked for fingerprints, blood splatters and ballistics just like real investigators.

The weeklong program was made possible after two district teachers applied for a state grant.
